Create, switch, or revisit a trip

Open Trips to see current, upcoming, past, and saved trips. Select a trip to make it active, then open its expenses or reports. Existing expense history remains attached to its original trip.

Creating an additional trip requires Tallywise Lifetime. You can still open and review every trip already stored in the app without upgrading.

Add an expense or receipt

Use Add Manually to enter the amount, merchant, date, category, currency, payer, and notes. Use Scan Receipt to capture a document with Apple’s camera interface or choose a photo. Apple Vision suggests receipt details on device; review them before saving.

The free app allows creation of up to 60 expenses, including up to 20 receipt attachments. Tallywise Lifetime removes those creation caps. Saved records and reports remain available if a cap is reached.

Exchange rates and reports

Open Settings, then Exchange Rates, to refresh reference rates from the European Central Bank or edit them manually. Reports can cover the active trip or another date range and export as a printable PDF or Excel-compatible spreadsheet.

iCloud sync

Sign in to iCloud and allow iCloud access for Tallywise. Apple CloudKit handles sync. If iCloud is unavailable, Tallywise continues to work with local storage on that device.

Purchase or restore Tallywise Lifetime

Open Settings, choose Tallywise Lifetime, and use the purchase button. Apple presents and processes the native confirmation. To recover an earlier purchase made with the same Apple Account, choose Restore Purchases.

Tallywise Lifetime is a one-time non-consumable purchase, not a subscription. The app never asks you to enter payment-card details directly.

Delete app data

Delete individual expenses or trips from their app controls. Reset Everything in Settings clears expenses, local receipt images, trip settings, and preferences, then returns to setup. A receipt you separately saved to Photos must be removed from Photos there. If iCloud sync is active, app-data changes are handled through Apple CloudKit.
