Tool Safety Checklists

These checklist templates should be completed before and after each tool session.

3D Printer

  • - Confirm nozzle and bed temperatures are set by teacher-approved profile.
  • - Check that filament path is clear and spool is mounted safely.
  • - Stay present for first-layer check before leaving a print unattended.

Laser Cutter

  • - Verify approved material list before placing anything in the machine.
  • - Confirm exhaust is active and lid is fully closed before starting.
  • - Never leave the laser running without direct adult supervision.

Hot Glue Gun / Soldering Station

  • - Use heat-safe mat and keep cords away from traffic paths.
  • - Use stands whenever tool is not actively in hand.
  • - Power off and cool down station before cleanup.
