Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy defines required conduct for all MakerHub users in school and district environments.

It applies to students, teachers, administrators, support staff, and any authorized third-party users.

2. Expected Conduct

Users must act lawfully, respectfully, and in alignment with school policy while using MakerHub.

  • - Use the platform only for approved educational and administrative purposes.
  • - Follow role permissions and teacher instructions during project work.
  • - Maintain respectful communication in all submissions and comments.
  • - Protect account credentials and sign out of shared devices.

3. Prohibited Conduct

The following activities are prohibited and may result in immediate enforcement action:

  • - Harassment, threats, hate speech, exploitation, or discriminatory behavior.
  • - Uploading illegal, infringing, explicit, or dangerous content.
  • - Circumventing security controls, role boundaries, or platform safeguards.
  • - Attempting unauthorized access, credential sharing, or impersonation.
  • - Disrupting service operation through abuse, automation, or malicious activity.
  • - Using platform content to target, profile, or harm students or staff.

4. Content and Intellectual Property

Users must upload only content they are authorized to use and share within the educational context.

Attribution and licensing obligations remain the responsibility of the uploader and institution.

5. Student Safety and Privacy

Users must not disclose personal contact details, private health information, or non-required personal identifiers in project artifacts unless explicitly permitted by school policy.

Any observed child safety concern, grooming behavior, or exploitation risk must be reported immediately.

6. Monitoring and Enforcement

MakerHub and school administrators may monitor usage, logs, and content as needed to protect platform integrity and user safety.

Enforcement actions may include warning, content removal, assignment restrictions, account suspension, or account termination.

7. Reporting Violations

Users should report policy violations to school administrators and to MakerHub at support@makerhub.app.

Reports should include relevant account identifiers, timestamps, and context to support investigation.

8. Policy Updates

MakerHub may update this policy to reflect legal, safety, or operational changes. Updates become effective on publication unless otherwise stated.
