Contract Priority

This public page complements your signed agreement, collection notices, and local legal review. If there is a conflict, the signed agreement controls.

Audience

Written for school authority, board, district, and education authority deployments in a school-managed environment.

01

Acceptance and Scope

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of MakerHub in school authority, district, board, and education authority deployments.

By accessing the platform or using any service feature, the user and the deploying institution agree to these terms, any signed agreement, and applicable school or institutional policy.

02

Institutional Authority and Eligibility

Institution representatives must have authority to adopt, configure, and administer MakerHub on behalf of their organization.

Student use must occur under school supervision and in a manner consistent with the institution's own notice, consent, records, and conduct requirements.

  • Each institution is responsible for role assignment accuracy.
  • Institutions must ensure account use aligns with school conduct, privacy, technology, and digital citizenship standards.
  • Users must provide accurate and current registration information.
03

Account Security and Access Controls

Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their credentials and using the service only through authorized accounts.

Institutions must promptly disable or remove access for users who leave the organization, lose authorization, or change roles.

  • Do not share passwords or bypass role-based restrictions.
  • Follow the login, device, and multi-user workstation rules established by your institution.
  • Notify school administrators and MakerHub support promptly if you suspect account compromise or unauthorized access.
04

Permitted Use

MakerHub may be used only for lawful educational, instructional, safety, and related administrative operations approved by the institution.

  • Class setup, project assignment, grading, and feedback are permitted uses.
  • Safety certification and evidence upload workflows are permitted uses.
  • Authorized reporting, exports, and school authority administration are permitted uses.
  • Commercial resale, unauthorized scraping, or benchmarking is prohibited without written permission.
05

Prohibited Use

The following uses are prohibited and may result in removal of content, suspension of access, or other enforcement action:

  • Bypassing security controls, access restrictions, or institutional role boundaries.
  • Impersonation, credential sharing, phishing, malware, or attempts to gain unauthorized access.
  • Uploading unlawful, dangerous, infringing, explicit, abusive, or discriminatory content.
  • Using the service for unrelated personal, political, or commercial purposes not approved by the institution.
  • Submitting unnecessary sensitive personal information into forms, uploads, or AI-assisted prompts.
  • Automated scraping, denial-of-service activity, or any action that disrupts service integrity.
06

AI-Assisted Features

MakerHub may offer optional AI-assisted features such as project generation, draft instructional content, or submission analysis.

AI outputs are assistive only. Institutions and educators are responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on them for classroom use, feedback, grading, or recordkeeping.

  • Do not treat AI output as legal, safety, medical, or special education advice.
  • Do not use AI output as the sole basis for a high-stakes decision about a student or staff member.
  • Do not submit unrelated confidential, health, counselling, or disciplinary details into AI features unless the institution has expressly approved that workflow.
07

User Content, Institutional Records, and Intellectual Property

Schools and users retain ownership of instructional materials and user-generated content they submit to MakerHub, subject to the institution's own policies and applicable law.

Users grant MakerHub a limited license to host, process, secure, transmit, and display content solely to operate, maintain, support, and improve the contracted service.

Records created, stored, or communicated through the service for school-authorized purposes may be institutional records subject to applicable public-sector access, privacy, and retention rules.

MakerHub software, service design, trademarks, and platform logic remain the property of MakerHub and its licensors.

08

Third-Party Services

MakerHub may rely on third-party providers for hosting, authentication, storage, AI, messaging, payments, embedded media, or integrations.

Use of third-party functionality may be subject to additional provider terms, availability constraints, and institutional approval requirements.

09

Monitoring, Suspension, and Termination

MakerHub and authorized institution administrators may monitor usage, logs, and content as needed to protect platform security, investigate misuse, support users, or respond to legal and safety obligations.

MakerHub may suspend, restrict, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce policy, preserve evidence, respond to law, or follow institutional direction.

Institutions may request export, transition, or deletion workflows subject to contract terms, security safeguards, and legal requirements.

10

Service Changes, Availability, and Support

MakerHub may update, improve, replace, or retire features as part of normal product lifecycle management.

While MakerHub targets dependable service, uninterrupted operation is not guaranteed due to maintenance, vendor outages, security events, or circumstances outside reasonable control.

Operational support questions should be sent to support@makerhub.app unless your institution has a different designated support path.

11

Contract Priority, Governing Law, and Updates

If these Terms conflict with a signed agreement, purchase order, data protection addendum, or negotiated institutional contract, the signed agreement controls to the extent of the conflict.

These terms are interpreted under the law and procurement framework applicable to the deploying institution unless a signed agreement states otherwise.

MakerHub may update these terms to reflect legal, security, vendor, or operational changes. Material updates will include a revised effective date.

Questions regarding these terms should be sent to support@makerhub.app or routed through the institution's designated contract owner.
